H3Africa Infographic Challenge
In celebration of Africa Day on 25 May, it is with pleasure we launch the H3Africa infographic challenge. The infographic is meant to showcase the advancements made in human genetics, genomics and bioinformatics in Africa. These could include but is not limited to all areas of research across H3Africa and H3ABioNet. Entries will be accepted from one individual or as a team of up to 5 individuals. All entries will be submitted and published as posters should they fulfill the criteria of the of the AAS Open Science Platform. The winning infographic will be edited by a graphic designer and developed into banner as a gift and displayed at the H3Africa Consortium Meetings. In addition, the winning individual /team will receive a voucher to the value of USD 300 as prize.
What is an infographic?
An infographic conveys quantitative data using symbols, words or numbers and is not the same as a research poster

Guidelines for the infographic;
- The content can be from sources including a literature review or your own original research,
- The infographic including references must fit to one page only
- Be submitted in portrait view as .pdf file
- Must bear your institutional, H3Africa and/or H3ABioNet logos
- Use of indigenous print/design is encouraged
Infographics can be created in MS Powerpoint and there are many free software and templates available online
Infographics will be judged in popularity by the H3Africa community following the closing date
The closing date is Monday 27 July 2020
