The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted several aspects of human life including the activities in the public health sector and has a unique impact on biomedical research activities. The African continent as the rest of the world continues to face some challenges associated with carrying out non-COVID-19 studies. Finding funding resources for those studies and other challenges on research activities becomes a problem. This study investigates the impact of COVID-19 on current biomedical research activities in Africa. This research has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of Cape Town, South Africa HREC 783/2021 and may be reached on Tel. +2721 406 6492.
